Animated Movies You've Seen )

I threw in a few question marks for movies where my memory isn't quite clear. [?] = maybe I saw it; [o?] = I think I saw part of it; [x?] = I think I saw it.

And some of the older movies, I may have loved them as a kid, but I haven't seen any of them in recent years, so I probably didn't bold very many of them.

And some of the bolded movies are ones I really liked, maybe not quite loved.

As I mentioned in the list, I loved The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, a relatively recent (and currently my favorite) anime movie. I haven't seen it for a while, but I remember really liking Metropolis.

Paid account: check
New icon: check
Still just a little bit sick: check

Also, probably holding off on getting a new phone... Found out that certain Alltel markets are getting divested following the Verizon/Alltel merger. So at some point, once they've sold it off, Alltel/Verizon won't be serving my area anymore.

Re: Persona 4 - I've been considering it for a while. Was on my Christmas list. But I've also got Persona 3 which (like a lot of other games) I've barely started playing. I actually picked up Persona 3 after it was kinda hard to find new copies, but before they announced the FES version was coming to North America. So 4 is on my To Buy list, but probably not getting it just yet, unless I find a good deal on it.

Well, I didn't post any in December, so here goes for January.

I've got a bit of the sick, but nothing too terrible. May go get it looked at, not sure yet.

Been thinking of getting a new phone. I'm mostly stuck with Alltel because their coverage doesn't suck around here; Verizon may be an option, too. As much as I'd like a nice smartphone, they all require ridiculously expensive plans. So far, this is the one I'm thinking about getting: Motorola Hint (QA30). This is what I'm using now: Motorola E815.

The Hint has a reasonably large display (2.5", 320x240) and a full keyboard, but it isn't a smartphone, so you can use it with a non-smartphone calling plan. And it's got a 3.5mm headphone jack and can take cards up to 8GB, so it could be a decent music/video player. It's no iPhone, but that's really not an option for me right now.

I got the fourth seasons of Lost and The Office for Christmas and watched them both. The Office has new episodes again this week, after a few weeks off, and I think Lost starts up season 5 the week after that.

I got Tales of Vesperia (360) and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3), but haven't started in on them yet.

Currently downloading the Windows 7 Beta. I've got some spare parts around, but still not sure what I'm going to install it on yet. I could just stick a second hard drive in my main PC and dual booth, I suppose. My old system is still put together, except the RAM got repurposed, and I'd need to clean out one of my spare hard drives for it. And though it's not that terribly old (S939 Athlon 64 3500+), it is single core. Anyway, all the word about Windows 7 is positive so far. I'll most likely be moving to it when the full version hits. But for now, I've got a key for the beta, which should last until August, IIRC.

Currently Playing: Valkyria Chronicles (PS3). I've been hyped about this game for most of the year, and haven't been disappointed. It's basically a tactica/strategy JRPG, turn-based, but you move your characters in real time. More guns and tanks, less swords & sorcery (though there's still some of that), and a nice anime/manga/illustration art style. Plus Vyse and Aika are playable. (Not part of the story, but you control them as members of your squad. Every squad member has their own unique design, voice & attributes, instead of having the usual lineup of lookalike characters as in most SRPGs.)

Currently Listening To:

Mirror's Edge Theme Song - Still Alive by Lisa Miskovsky

Just came across this tonight. I hadn't been that interested in the game, but may give the demo a try.

Watched Chuck tonight. Hadn't seen it before. Not half bad. And the Office last Thursday (no Office this Thursday due to debates). When does Lost start, next week maybe? I'll have to check. Or wait, I think I remember it wasn't going to be coming back until 2009... Yeah, that sucks.

ANYway, I finished rewatching The X-Files, from Season 1 to Season 9, over the last few months. Actually watched the last episode a couple weeks ago. Surprising how many guest stars I recognize this time around that I didn't before. Locke and Ben Linus from Lost. Locke was two different characters in the series, and another in the first X-Files movie. Ben was in the second-to-last episode, which was the last standalone episode. Adam Baldwin from Firefly/Serenity, who's also on Chuck in Chuck a character in the series "Chuck," played the supersoldier Noel Roar Knowle Rohrer. Callum Keith Rennie from Due South (offered the part of Krycek, originally) had a small part as a gravedigger in an episode, and had a different, much bigger part in the second movie.

Oh, and Skinner has a role in that new movie about wiper blades, Flash of Genius. Saw him several times in the trailer, though I don't know that he has one of the big roles.

Going to go watch some ARIA and get some sleep.

Current Music: Master Ninja Theme Song - MST3k

Never know where EK's art is gonna show up next (here's the thread, though the rest of that site isn't really recommended viewing). I don't remember seeing that one before.

Found some cool stuff on Deviantart by *NorthernBanshee.

South Park - Family Portraits

kids of south park

the final battle (FFVII)

Also some KH, Naruto, Avatar, and Transformers stuff there, but these three were the ones relevant to my interests.

These two sites also have some manga-fied South Park art.
